The Southbank Centre is hosting an exhibition in celebration of 50th anniversary of the Koestler Trust which promotes Prison Art. The exhibition will run from the 20th September – 25th November.
Leading the exhibition tours and helping at events are ex-offender interns, all of whom are aged older than the Trust. Specially recruited by the Koestler Trust and trained in collaboration with Southbank Centre, these exhibition assistants challenge the assumption that internships are for youngsters, and help give a voice to prisoners aged over 50.
The collection of pieces have been described as challenging, heartbreaking, uplifting and provocative, but always inspiring.
